Local 283 Member Leaders Reach Out to Civic Leaders for Growth Opportunity

Member leaders of Local 283, both 300-Hitters and 3-Year Apprentices, recently went to the Richmond County Neighborhood Associations Alliance monthly meeting in Augusta, GA. and had the opportunity to educate those in attendance about the benefits of joining the carpenters union.

The Alliance consists of Neighborhood Association Presidents from around the region, to address community issues. At this meeting, State Rep. Gloria Frazier (HD 126) gave a summary of the Legislative session. She then invited the Local 283 member leaders to speak to the group about  training & job opportunities available through Local 283. The member leaders were received with enthusiasm! They distributed business cards and networked with neighborhood presidents, many of whom requested follow-up meeting.

Thanks to these participants for honoring the commitment that accompanies being a 300-Hitter/3rd Year Apprentice leader.
