Leaders of the Mid-South TTF, Southeastern Carpenters and Southern States Millwrights
Work is officially underway to build a technologically advanced, comprehensive carpenter and millwright training center in the Nashville suburb of La Vergne, Tennessee. The 25,000 structure will be built on four acres of land along Veterans Memorial Parkway, near U.S. Hwy. 41, Murfreesboro Highway.
The $5 million project is being done by the Mid-South Carpenters Regional Council Training Trust Fund (TTF). The TTF trains members of the Southeastern Carpenters and Southern States Millwrights regional councils. Recently, those representing these organizations, carpenters from Southeastern Local 223, and state and local officials teamed to kickoff construction at a ceremonial groundbreaking event.
“Our vision is to prepare a local workforce of construction industry professionals with the skills needed to enable these men and women to secure an excellent quality of life for themselves and their families,” said Rickey Moore, Director of the Mid-South Carpenters Regional Council Training Trust Fund. “This facility has the potential to provide more jobs to LaVergne residents and build long-term residency into the community.”
