24 Months of Safe Work Recognized at Plant Vogtle

Contractor Hamon Custodis held a safety recognition luncheon for all of its Plant Vogtle personnel  -  including over 700 members of the Southeastern Carpenters Regional Council - to celebrate a great safety milestone on the project.

As of October 27, the company has achieved 24 continuous months on the project without having a single recordable safety incident.

“I would like to thank all the members of the local unions for their dedication to safety on our project at Plant Vogtle, and I want to thank everyone for their continued commitment to our safety program and efforts,” said John Huchko, Operations Manger of Hamon Custodis.

Reps from Southern Company, Westinghouse, and Fluor also spoke to the group at this event. Discussion centered on the importance of celebrating this milestone, maintaining the focus on safety, and continuing to be proactive in the site’s safety program.

“Congratulations to these members, who are illustrating the safety values of a union carpenter on this job site, every day,” said Council EST Larry Phillips.
